Peach suede - yummy! They look high but that platform would make them comfy(er) to walk in. I just can't stop fantasising about wearing these in summer with a plum coloured pedicure and stripy breton tees. I've got the BEST bike, custom made by The Hunny, lovely pale blue with a purple chain, rides like a dream, saddle carried all the way home from Latvia. It's bloody cold in Melbourne at the moment though and I'm a big big wuss who likes to have her hair look nice when she gets to work. I also don't like to have sore calloused hands from holding on for dear life over all the bumps on the road. I can solve one aspect of this problem if I can get my mits on these sweeeeet cycling gloves from Public. Only problem being, they don't ship outside the US. Oh well, driving to work it is....

They're getting alot of editorial love, and I've seen them work awfully well on some people. They are comfortable, even if they don't look it, and my love of costume-y fashion options is well known and documented. But I'm still not sold on the clog.
I've found another option that might be right for me at my mecca of fast and affordable fashion, Sportsgirl. At just over $100, these aren't a steal, but they look sturdy and comfy (not the sexiest qualities, I know), and will look cute with cuffed jeans. They also look like they'll be good for clomping my way around NYC this September. Hmmm....decisions, decisions.....
They're by a brand called Lilimill and they're lovely and buttery soft leather. Very tempting indeed. Although, I don't know how practical white shoes would be in rainy grubby Melbourne (and of course those are the ones I want).
I have a particular passion for pattern and print. I also happen to have a vast (and expanding) collection of pants and coats. This poses the difficulty of me being massively obsessed by the amaaaaaaing trench and pant from the SS 10/11 Arnsdorf collection. One of the first things we (or rather, I) did was to rip the old brass old-style lights with little glass details out of the ceiling and replaced them with the infinitely nicer looking but still not perfect 'Melodi' lamps (below). Yes, they're made from plastic but they look great and are quite unnoticeable, letting the better parts of each room shine. Plus they were $14.99 each (!!!!!) and I was skint, so done deal.

The hallway needs something just a little bit more special. The furore lamp by German designer Lima De Lezando has put me in a bit of a spin. I'm a sucker for any kind of rose or brass toned metal and I looooove these fluid shapes that make it look like they're growing out of the ceiling.

I've found a watch that I think is great, but borders on being absolutely wrong. It's so wrong, it's wonderful. It is, of course, an ebay find. I always find myself a bit confused when it comes to ebay purchasing. I guess this is what happens when you search 'Dinosaur: Jewellery'. Decisions, decisions...the clock is ticking! I placed my order for their Autumn/Winter 2010 pieces last week and I'm DYING for them to arrive. It's a great range full of chunky knits, velvet and digital prints of cloud on silk. Sounds like a bit of a mish-mash, but it totally works. Visiting their new store in the GPO (Melbourne) this week, I stocked up on some of their great jewellery, including this 'hare head' ring. It's so great!! I have a feeling that gold is going to make a huge comeback in my wardrobe this summer.
She's had such a distinct style since the inception of the brand, and it's been a real pleasure to watch it develop. I was lucky enough last week to be the very happy recipient of one of her beautiful leather belts as a gift and I've barely taken it off since! I've also had the chance to take a sneak peek at the Autumn/Winter 2010 collection and it's more of the same...great, clever, luxe pieces that will do serious damage to the wallet. You can see ARNSDORF product at http://arnsdorf.swappler.com/ and also shop online!

The perfect balance of wit and style...you wouldn't even know it was a skull shape unless you looked closely! The curve of the wood is just so beautiful. Minimal, classic, complex all at once. Now all I need to do is find the money to buy it and a place to put it.
The style below is 'Rio' is cream tortoiseshell and is high up on the wishlist this week. With frames named after the world's most brilliant cities - Rio, New York, London, Paris, Rome - Prism provide a great alternative to the old trend of overly blinged-out designer frames (hello Chanel). Unfortunately for us, they are only available through Dover Street Market & Browns in London, and Barneys in NY. On the other hand, what better souvenir to pick up from your favourite international destination? You can see the range for yourself at http://www.prismlondon.com/.
Its such a bizarre mix of references, with splattered paint, lacework and geometry. The images below are the ones that really grabbed me, especially the intricate lace. Love it! I want to see Diane Kruger in that yellow dress - now that would perfection.
The first is the shop-sign from Dentist in Fes. Again, like most of the stuff we loved, it was the simplicity of this that we thought was great. The other images are of a craftsman we met who carved intricate patterns out of plaster tiles for mosques and other important buildings - the detail was amazing and he was kind enough to let us take a photo.
I just loved the simplicity of it. Not big signs, no tricky marketing tactics. Just eggs. I guess it's not technically design, but it's beautiful nonetheless.
